Ӱԭ University Named Top Producer of Fulbright U.S. Students for 16th Consecutive Year

Ӱԭ University has been named a top producer of Fulbright U.S. Students for a 16th consecutive year, as recently announced by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. The Fulbright Program is the U.S. government’s flagship international educational exchange program and top-producing colleges and universities are highlighted annually in The Chronicle of Higher Education. Ӱԭ had 27 Fulbright recipients for the 2023-2024 academic year.

Ӱԭ University will award its Civitas Dei Medal to Elizabeth A. Johnson, CSJ, PhD, distinguished professor emerita of Theology at Fordham University and an influential voice in feminist theology and ecological ethics. With the Civitas Dei Medal, Ӱԭ University honors Catholics who have made exemplary contributions to the Catholic intellectual tradition and the pursuit of truth, beauty and goodness.

Charles Widger School of Law Sports Law Negotiation Team Wins International Baseball Arbitration Competition

Three members of the Ӱԭ University Charles Widger School of Law Sports Law Negotiation Team were awarded first place at the annual International Baseball Arbitration Competition. Third-year students Alex Schaff and David Brake and second-year student Alyssa Rodarte defeated 40 teams from across the country to win the prestigious contest for the first time. Schaff also earned the Oral Advocacy Award for her outstanding arguments.

Ӱԭ University Announces Plan for New Building to House Falvey Library

Ӱԭ University President the Rev. Peter M. Donohue, OSA, PhD, has announced plans for a new 150,000-square-foot building for Falvey Library at the current site of Kennedy Hall. The new building will be named Vic Maggitti Hall in recognition of a previously announced $20 million leadership gift from Victor J. Maggitti, Jr. ’56 VSB.
