Charting the Future: Don Argue
Over the 90 years of ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ‘s history, we have had only six presidents. This is testimony to the consistently high quality of our board of directors. But it also testifies to five outstanding leaders who brought vision and energy to our development. Among them, Don Argue stands tall.
I once asked President Del Tarr of the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary a series of questions about the many college presidents he had known. I asked who was the greatest visionary, who was the greatest spiritual leader, and other questions. But when I asked, “Who was the smartest university president you have known,” without hesitation, he responded, “Don Argue.”
For 18 years, I have studied the presidents who led Northwest before me, all of them men who inspired me for different reasons. They were all people of incredible talent. Don Argue was a worthy successor in their line. But the thing that has always impressed me most about President Argue through the years has been his rock-solid integrity. He is a man of principle.
As we celebrate our 90th year, I hope you’ll enjoy his reflections on his experience at Northwest.
