Position Summary
ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ is seeking an Assistant Professor of Worship Studies with expertise in choral conducting and worship ministry. The candidate must be an energetic, enthusiastic teacher who is committed to helping students achieve their academic and career goals and grow in their faith. The ability to teach traditional music, and/or theology and Bible courses and lead a concert choir are also see as advantageous qualities.
Candidates must possess a meaningful commitment to Jesus Christ, the Church, and the gospel. We are seeking someone with a winsome, encouraging, and culturally engaged faith. Candidates with experience mentoring diverse students, including those from underrepresented backgrounds, are preferred.

Essential Functions
- Teach courses in the Worship and Music Studies major.
- Lead Choralons, ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ’s contemporary worship/gospel choir.
- Depending on qualifications, teach music courses and/or College of Ministry courses.
- Oversee chapel music and related university tasks.
- Serve as program lead for the Worship and Music Studies major.
- Work with the dean to revise curriculum as needed.
- Advise undergraduate students.
- Develop new courses as needed in candidate’s area of research and teaching.
- Participate in the governance functions of the university as assigned.
- Engage in scholarship alongside his/her teaching.
Qualifications
- Masters or doctoral degree in Worship Studies, Music Ministry, Music, Pastoral Studies, or a similar field.
- Demonstrated experience and skill in worship ministry and choral conducting.
- Demonstrated experience leading a gospel choir.
- Undergraduate-level teaching experience, with documentation of success in teaching, advising, and mentoring relationships
- A collegial orientation and a willingness to work collaboratively.
- A commitment to teaching excellence.
- A demonstrated, vibrant faith in Jesus Christ.
- Holds credentials with the Assemblies of God or is willing and able to do so.
- Willingness to apply a faith-based worldview to course design, instruction, and advising.
Compensation
Dependent on education and experience and based upon the established faculty salary schedule starting at the respective professor rank. ($58,213–$65,487)

The Buntain College of Nursing’s baccalaureate degree is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. In addition, the College of Nursing has received approval from the Washington State Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission. The University is also approved by the Board of Education and Superintendent of Public Instruction of the State of Washington to prepare elementary and secondary education teachers and recommend for certification. It is a member of the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education. ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ's doctoral program in counseling psychology is accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA).
The University is approved by the Federal and State Governments for student aid programs and for the training of international students. Selected programs of study are approved by a Washington State Approving Agency for enrollment of those eligible for benefits under Title 38 and Title 10, U.S. Code and by Washington State for training in Vocational Rehabilitation.
