Dawn Jordshaugen Memorial Scholarship
Dawn Michelle Jordshaugen was a beautiful young woman with a sparkling smile and a sense of humor that brought laughter to the doctor’s offices where she worked. She began her training as a medical assistant at age 20. Patients loved her for her caring, friendly attitude and technical skills.
Early in the five years Dawn was a medical assistant she took and passed an examination to become a certified medical assistant (CMA). Working at a Kirkland medical clinic in 2000 she heard about a new nursing school that was about to open at ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ and decided she wanted to go back to school to get an accredited nursing degree. Before Dawn could realize her dream, she contracted a staph infection and died on June 16, 2000, a month before her 26th birthday.
This scholarship in her memory seeks to honor her passion to care for others through the field of nursing.
